See has never been affiliated to any secondary ticketing site and never will be. In fact, we have been taking practical steps for many years to help ensure that tickets sold on our site go to legitimate fans. This is something we feel very strongly about and our position on this will not change.
We welcome the Government pledge to crack down on touts and the software being used by them to take tickets away from genuine fans. We have also signed the FanFair Alliance’s Declaration against online ticket touts to show our support for the work the organisation is doing to combat touting in which we are actively involved.
To that extent we have now launched our own ethical resale platform ‘Fan-to-Fan’ which will enable fans to resell tickets at the price they paid or less. We know there are occasions where fans cannot attend an event and want to sell their ticket at a fair price, and this can be done safely and securely through the Fan-to-Fan platform.
There are a number of benefits for both buyers and sellers when using Fan-to-Fan which include it being completely free to list and sell tickets, buyers being protected with our 100% listing verification and the support of a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week customer support to answer any questions via live chat, email and phone.
Rob Wilmshurst, CEO at See Tickets said: “The launch of Fan-to-Fan is us nailing our colours to the mast and saying that we don’t believe the secondary market is fair to fans. Fan-to-Fan has been created out of a desire to offer customers an ethical and safe space where they can buy tickets without playing into the hands of touts charging extortionate prices.”
There will be no over inflated ticket prices listed at Fan-to-Fan as there are with other re-sale sites. See Tickets will add a 5% booking fee to the list price (not including the delivery fee) and tickets can only be re-sold at the price fans paid or less.
Adam Webb at the FanFair Alliance said: "Fan-to-Fan is a welcome addition to the market. See Tickets is a supporter of the FanFair Alliance, and this is yet another example of a ticketing company demonstrating leadership by promoting face value exchange instead of resale profiteering."
Nigel Adams MP said: “When we in Parliament talk about reform of secondary ticketing and responsible industry practice, this is exactly what we want to see: fans, organisers, artists, and ticketing agents coming together to enable each other. I’m pleased that See Tickets has put its weight behind ethical resale, and welcome developments that mean fans aren’t fleeced, and can be confident in the transparency and validity of tickets they are buying on the secondary market.”
Robert Richards, Commercial Director at Glastonbury Festival said: “As the people who helped us build the very effective photo registration ticketing process for the Festival, we know See Tickets are very much against touting and this new service seems like a really good move.”
